As announced earlier, Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy has inducted Jagitial MLA T Jeevan Reddy back into his Cabinet and returned the same portfolio he had held earlier – Roads and Buildings.
Jeevan Reddy, who gave a tough fight to KCR in the elections and reduced the latter's victory margin to a mere 15,000 votes, was sworn in as the minister at Raj Bhavan on Friday evening. He thanked YSR for reposing faith on him.
However, Jeevan Reddy's induction has caused a lot of heart burn to many Congress MLAs. A couple of months ago, YSR gave a hint that he would expand his cabinet again. That gave a lot of hopes to many aspirants. There were speculations that along with Jeevan Reddy, YSR might take Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Konda Surekha and P Sudhakar Reddy into the Cabinet, so as to gain advantage in their respective constituencies. However, they are all disappointed with YSR ignoring them and taking only Jeevan Reddy.
Will there be another expansion? Unlikely, say Cong sources.
