The brainstorming meeting held by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao to give a new direction to the party in the coming days has turned very heated.
Several intellectuals, professors, union leaders and poets, who attended the meeting, directly attacked KCR for his style of functioning. They pointed out that KCR had completely ignored the organizational matters, as a result of which there was no mechanism at the top level to understand what was happening at the bottom. The elected representatives had completely ignored their constituencies, while the other parties strengthened their network at the field level. The gap between the party and the people widened, which resulted in the debacle in byelections. The entire blame should go to KCR alone, they said.
The TRS president did not admit his mistakes directly, but instead blamed it on the pro-Telangana organisatons for not coming to the rescue of TRS, when it mattered. He, however, said he was prepared to listen to their ideas and sought their cooperation to lead the movement.
