Babu Makes Fun of 'Saakshi Advertisements'
Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy and his son YS Jaganmohan Reddy are nowadays busy with the new venture of the family i.e launch of a new Telugu newspaper. The newspaper has been named Sakshi (witness). There has been a media blitzkrieg on the new newspaper. The advertisements are displayed on buses, auto rickshaws and on hoardings at prime positions. "You are witness to this", says the advertisement showing a potter's girl dreaming about becoming the world's greatest Kuchipudi dancer. So imitating the advertisements of Sakshi, Chandrababu Naidu spoke about "corruption" in Congress government at length and finally winded up the speech saying that "the Congress government will be a mute witness (sakshi) to the corruption that's going on in the State and in the Chief Minister's office". Everyone in the Assembly smiled away the new "advertisement" of the Telugu Desam imitating the media blitzkrieg of the Sakshi newspaper. These days Chandrababu Naidu has been taking every precaution to ensure that his address in the State Assembly is free from error and the points he makes are forceful enough to put the Congress in the dock. But quite often he fails in this mega task and ends up with a long and boring speech. But the Sakshi advertisement was a whip of fresh breeze from the Telugu Desam quarters.
