ETV May Get Killed with New Channels

The small screen is turning into a big battleground. Every day a new channel is coming up to woo the viewer with new and newer programs. The number of news channels is also going up day by day.
The frontrunner all these days as far as news channels go was TV9. A relatively new entrant into the 24x7 news bracket, NTV, is challenging the monopoly of TV9. The new channel is giving a tough competition to TV9 in giving 'breaking news' and exclusive live stories.
Another new entrant, TV5 is slowly picking up. Many new channels like 'Vanitha' and Sreegiri are on the anvil. Vanitha is from NTV and it will be a full-fledged entertainment channel. Sreegiri is another spiritual channel that is ready to hit the airwaves.
All this tough competition and fresh programming has pushed ETV to the third or fourth spot. It is said that about 25 new Telugu channels are in line to emerge.
